Some people don't know what stock images are, and that's totally okay. Stock images are pictures put up for public use, such as for manips or using them as 'face claims' for characters. Here are just a few places for you to find them!
Flickr - Flickr.com is among the largest sites to offer stock images. Put what you want into the search bar found in the upper right corner, with the magnifying glass icon. Then, when the site loads, go to the left where there's a dropdown bar that says 'any type'. Use 'modifications allowed' and that will give you the list of creative commons pictures. Also available is 'commercial allowed', 'commercial and mods allowed', and 'no rights reserved'.
Morgue File - Easier to use than Flickr but not as big a selection. Input what you want into the search bar and it will give you a list of photos to choose from.
DeviantArt Now DeviantArt, you have to be careful on. The link provided leads you to the stock page, but some people still require you to ask permission. DeviantArt is a last resort kind of place.
Warriors Graphics - A blog on tumblr full of photos taken from flickr. They're tagged by number of cats, season, colors, and markings. However, you DO have to be careful. The flickr images you use must say 'some rights reserved' or 'no rights reserved'. Otherwise they aren't stock.
Stock Kitties - Another tumblr blog for cc image cats. These are also tagged by colors and markings.
