Crowstar | | Shadowclan |
she-cat | | 48 | | Leader |
Crowstar is a very large she-cat, it is obvious that her body is muscular and stocky and it doesn't help that along with a bigger body type that her fur is thick specially around her neck and tail. To go with her size she has broad shoulders and big paws along with very large, rounded ears. Her fur is black and white with both colors ranging about half and half on her body. Her face is primarily white with the top of her head sporting a black 'mask' and green eyes against that. Most of her flank is black though she has a white collar, chest, belly and legs along with strands and patches of white throughout.
Crowstar is a very calm, very collected cat. When it comes to most situations she is the last to panic and is more likely to get frustrated than frightened. She has a slow temper, hardly one to ever snap or yell. However, she holds onto grudges for a very long time. She is not known to forgive when hurt and can bring up arguments from many moons ago where she still feels wronged.
She is incredibly cheerful for such a calm cat, she rarely looks to the downside of things and tries her hardest to keep the mood of those around her up even if it is at the cost of her own dignity. She tends to be nicest towards apprentices or kits, believing the early moons of a cat’s life should be content and full of new exciting experiences, even if the ideal is delusional. On the other hand though, she does get a bit nervous around young apprentices or kits.
She rarely visits the nursery if there are any new-borns out of fear her large size may accidentally hurt someone. She is however very cold towards the other clans, not many would ever see her being happy during a gathering for she tends to be surly during these times.
She can also be lazy, while she does her work and duties well she will never be the first cat awake and is usually the first to try to sleep. She enjoys laying out in the sun and uses her few chances at free time to do just that.
She enjoys hunting though her strengths tend to lean more towards fighting, she enjoys the freedom being out of camp gives her. She does tend to go out alone to hunt often. She revels in taking walks alone and enjoys privacy even if that means having to sneak out in the morning to face a long night in her clan.
Her recklessness comes in when she does want to be alone. She doesn't take into consideration that walking alone in the forest or near the borders could be dangerous and usually she's too focused in her thoughts to pay too much attention to that around her. Her legs can carry her far and she often ends up being farther away in her territory than she ever means too.
She is fiercely loyal to Shadowclan, as can be expected from the leader, being around her clan brings the best out in her. However, being around the foreign clans brings out her worse. She takes the rivalry amongst the clans very seriously and much prefers to leave the other clans alone. She doesn't want them to know Shadowclan's business and she doesn't want to know theirs. She strongly believes in the idea that the clan is more important than any individual, she is willing to do whatever it may take to keep her clan strong.

Crowstar's mother was a brown tabby named Mouseflower, her father a large white and black tom called Swiftheart. They had a simple romance, friends as apprentices, and comrades as warriors and eventually when they got a bit older they became mates. There first litter was where Crowkit was born, along with two other lively littermates.
It wasn't until she was an apprentice that anything remarkable happened in her life. Her mentor was a large, old tom named Stonetooth, in all respect he should of been retired by now and he seemed to of hated to be a mentor so late into his Warrior lifestyle. While grumpy, he was incredibly patient with the younger cat not to mention he had plenty of experience and many valuable stories that Crowpaw loved to listen too. Unfortunately, Stonetooth died around the second moon of her training from an illness that struck the elderly and young kits that leaf-bare.
She was then the first apprentice to a young she-cat named Berryleg, who compared to Stonetooth didn't seem to know much of what she was doing. It was then that Crowpaw decided she had to practice a lot on her own and she would often wander farther off than she should during hunting excursions with her new mentor. She got in trouble quite a few times because of this and she had her naming ceremony held off for quite a few moons.
Finally, after showing her worth to the clan by obeying orders and fighting fiercely in a border skirmish she was dubbed Crowfang, but she was injured badly in the leg and her first few moons as a warrior was spent healing.
In her early warrior days she was a bit of a downer. She still liked to be alone and sometimes she would sit and listen to the elders but usually it seemed that she was being dragged through the mud to be able to do anything. That changed when she was able to get her very first apprentice, Cherrypaw was like having a kit without all the pain and less of the nurturing. She took great pride in watching her small apprentice grow into a strong warrior and it was at that point she learned to take pride into her clan and that a kind word can go a long way.
When Cherryheart was made into a warrior Crowfang was delighted that her small, brave apprentice showed such worth and loyalty to the clan and the two still remain friends.
Crowfang still acted mildly as if she was tired all the time, her voice remained a slow, quiet drawl but she became well known to being gentle and nice to younger cats. Though she treated her fellow warriors with respect she began to grow into her argumentative side. It was as she was reaching then end of her first season as a warrior that she began to challenge nearly everyone and everything. Not even being scolded from her higher ups stopped her from never shutting up. Still, she became a very keen hunter and her size made her a force to be reckon with during fights. She did fairly well when she led patrols, she was always very careful to listen to each individual cat.
It was after she received her third apprentice Frostpaw that she was named deputy. She hadn't been deputy long before she led a small border fight against Thunderclan and it was in that fight where her apprentice met her death. Crowfang still feels very uncomfortable about the young cat's death. She knew the apprentice was too young, too inexperience for training but having never loss an apprentice before she hadn't imagine that outcome. Since that day she has been very focused in her work, she refuses to let anything haunt her mind and she knows that means less rest days for her.
She became leader when the the last Shadowclan Leader, Barkstar died due to a weak heart that gave out in his sleep. The idea that the incredibly old, former leader died in his den deeply disturbs Crowstar and because of it she has gotten the habit of constantly cleaning her den out. Sometimes she will even spends nights outside her den just so she can get a easier nights rest.
She has gotten use to her role as leader and has been settled for quite a few moons now.
