Mothroot | | Windclan |
tom | | 89 | | medicine cat |
Mothroot is a small, lean tom even by windclan standards. he is always bony, no matter how much he eats or how often he just lays about he can never get that extra bit of fat on his nose. He has short, sleek fur that is primarily a pale golden brown color. Throughout his fur he has small, dark brown speckles but around his tail and front legs he has thin black stripes. On the top of his head he has the same black stripes along with a white muzzle and amber eyes
First and foremost Mothroot is a very religious medicine cat, he trust completely in starclan and often he will do basic treatments on a cat and leave them in the hands of starclan. This is one reason he refuses to retire despite being very much able to. He awaits for a sign before he does so and will not budge an inch to the elder's den until that happens.
In addition to this he also takes the clan borders very loosely, as a medicine cat he doesn't follow the same clan rivalry however he likes to push his limits. His idea is that we are all going to go to starclan one day so might as well get use to this.
he is still loyal to his clan however, windclan will always come first and always be home but he will not suffer any warrior nonsense of who he can or can't heal.
He is the fatherly type, he sees the whole clan as his family and treats them like so. Having issues your own parents? too late, you're adopted now. need advice on a pretty she-cat? time to hear a lessor from Mothroot.
Sometimes he can even act a little bit like the grumpy old elder he should be, he really doesn't tolerate stupidity from warriors specially if they should know better though he is always gentle on the much younger cats. It is not uncommon for him to try and scold senior warriors.

mothkit was the smallest kit in the litter of a windclan she-cat named Blacknose, Blacknose was a young she-cat and she had barely been made a warrior before she became mates with the tom Tigerthroat. While some clanmates pitied her for moving to the nursery so quickly in truth the black she-cat was quite content there. While she would never admit it she had a dislike for some of her warrior duties, she wasn't fond of fighting and had little interest in teaching apprentices the skills of it.
When her kits were born she attempted to pass down her displeasure about the Warrior life through cautionary tales about the other clans but her words seemed to be futile against the two toms that she had. Mothkit had grown to be fulled with zeal and his bigger littermate was already being taught fighting by their father.
However a change of events happened when the brothers were about to become apprentices, Mothkit was drawn to the medicine den around his fifth and six moon and it wasn't long before he was apprenticed to the medicine cat Stormbelly.
mothpaw's brother was very disappointed that they couldn't grow and train together as warriors and for many moons he didn't hide his displeasure which depressed Mothpaw. His first few moons weren't going well, Stormbelly was a harsh and critical teacher who seemed to scold him for getting things right and he nearly quit his apprenticeship. anything was better than his mentor's tongue. However it was his mother Blacknose that kept him going in his medicine training. She encouraged him every day, pleased to see one of her litters tried a different path. Tigerthroat visited from time to time, though his father focused more on handling his brother,
Eventually, his brother got over it too. He was becoming a strong warrior now and appreciated seeing Mothpaw whenever injury occurred.
It was many moons after his littermate got his warrior name before Mothpaw received his. While stormbelly didn't plan on retiring soon she still allowed him to receive full status as Mothroot. It was an eye opening experience getting his name from starclan, and while he can't talk about his experience he still remembers it vividly.
one day he and his mother decided to go on a walk to gather herbs, as they got deeper into the territory they came across the scent of a badger and found a set on the territory. As they were about to leave to report back the badger suddenly came from a thicket hidden by the tall grass and the slope of the hill. The creature attacked Mothroot first but blacknose was quick on her feet and jumped on the creatures back and soon the two cats were going back and forth to fight it off. Just before help could arrive though the badger clamped powerful jaws on mothroot's back leg, making him drag himself to safety as someone else drove the animal off. He had passed out.
By the time he came to he was in his den, stormbelly looking over him. She explained his leg was healed with an exception of a scar however Blacknose's wounds were too deep and she had died the night before.
For the passing seasons, after he had mourned, he became content helping his mentor as much as possible and slowly he started taking over more and more tasks until stormbelly announced him as the new medicine cat and she retired.
It was almost painful to see the she-cat retire, he visited her often but more than he liked to. Every time he saw her something was always wrong. A cough, sore throat, cramps and more. he went through three more leaf bares taking care of stormbelly before the she-cat finally passed. It was bittersweet, he knew he was in pain but to this day he severely misses the old cat. With every passing moon though, he finds himself being like her, becoming the old medicine cat.
Still, so much time has passed now and yet Mothroot still refuses to retire. Not wanting to be the slow, sickly elder awaiting death. His father has long since pass and his brother was able to fulfill a life as warrior and retire.
