Briarclaw | | Shadowclan |
female | | twenty-five moons | | Warrior |
Briarclaw is a slim, elegant looking cat by her build alone. Sporting a delicate angular head she has medium sized pointed ears. Her nose, inner ear, and paw pads are all the same light pink color. Her light green eyes are a large almond-shape, helping to give her an aura of innocence.
Athletic is something that she was built to be. Under her medium length pelt her muscles run tautly under her skin, knotted in some places, working smoothly without any hitches as they have been trained to do.
Her paws are delicate, rounded little circles that hide razor-sharp thorns under seeming soft folds. She's rather proud of her long legs and pluming tail, though she would never admit this fact to anyone.
But, her true defining feature is her fur. A bright, clean, white it cascades smoothly over her shoulders and back, appearing to be soft and plush. She keeps it meticulously clean, hating to have leaf particles or mud showing up on her. Briarclaw figures that as long as she is visible, she might as well look pretty while being so.

She's quiet to those she doesn't know, and is known to never refuse help to her clanmates. Briarclaw does her best to not grumble or question her leader, even if she doesn't entirely agree with what they say.
But what she doesn't show, instead keeping it locked away inside, is that she has a ingenious mind and a fierce competitive urge inside of her. Even she isn't quite sure of what her motives or goals are in life, usually though she hates to not have a plan, or a few backup plans besides that plan.
Briarclaw in a way isn't the most honest of cats. As she can become mildly irritated with her clanmates on small matters she has learned well to lie about her feelings, and in a matter of ways, has become an expert actress.
An introvert at heart she loves to have a few close friends, but not large crowds of them. Though sarcastic by nature, her first instinct is to mother others, or to try and help fix them, and as such she often doesn't say what she wishes to say, fearing that her words might hurt others.
Combat, she finds is a complicated idea for her. Hating to hurt others, and yet wanting to protect her clan confuses her. Though decent at it she prefers hunting, as it both aids the clan and doesn't hurt fellow cats.
The way she lives is a complicated structure, webs of white-lies and truths, but throughout it all she remains highly loyal to her clan, respecting most of their laws.
Except for StarClan.
Ever since she was a kit Briarclaw just didn't believe that StarClan existed, and even if they did, she found the idea unsettling. Long dead cats predicting their future and telling them how to live? She said no thanks to that a long time ago. She doesn't tell her clanmates this, seeing their faith in the oh so benevolentancestors, instead just excusing herself from conversations about them.
Her mother was either a loner or kittypet who had decided that dumping her kit off at ShadowClan was a wonderful idea. Briarclaw grew up with an adoptive queen and littermates, never knowing if she herself had any biological siblings. She never felt overly betrayed by the she-cat who had given birth to her, and had a grudging thankfulness to her for not just leaving her in the woods to be eaten.
Making it through kit hood with relatively little issues, (besides a finding out that beetles shouldn't be eaten under -any- circumstances, not even dares). Assigned to a mentor who had high expectations she pushed herself to try and achieve some level of worthiness in his eyes, though she remains uncertain as to if that was ever achieved.
Graduating into becoming a warrior felt like a dramatic switch to her, suddenly not being told almost every hour of every day to do something by a mentor. After a few moons she figured out a reasonable schedule, and that is when she was given a headstrong apprentice to train. Struggling to do so, she survived to see her graduate.
